To develop participants' skills in applying the 10-step COMBI planning approach to designing a strategic communication plan for achieving specific behavioral results in health and social development . By the end of a COMBI Workshop, participants working in teams complete partial draft COMBI Plans for presentation on the final day of the workshop. COMBI Curriculum Participants will cover the following topics and themes – COMBI Foundational Lessons; Behavioral Insights and Behavior Adoption; Basic Communication Principles; Role of Communication in Behavioral Impact; Sexual Attitudes Reassessment (SAR) and Sexual Heath Communication (in relevant workshops); Marketing Principles from Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) for Bridging the Knowledge/Action Gap; Integrated, Synchronized Communication Action Areas for IMC/COMBI -- Administrative Mobilization, Public Relations, Advocacy, Mass Media, Social Media, Community Engagement and Group Communication, Advertising, Personal Selling/Interpersonal Communication/Counselling, Point of Service Promotion; Formative/Marketing/Social Science Research for Behavioral Insights and for Behavioral Impact Evaluation. This will all lead to the 10-Step COMBI Planning Process and a COMBI Practicum. Caribbean/St. Maarten International SBC/COMBI Training - October 2024 Our next International SBC/COMBI Course will be held in the Caribbean island of St. Maarten in collaboration with the Government of St. Maarten/Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport (MECYS), October 14-23, 2024. New York City International Annual Summer Institute on COMBI - June 2025 An annual two-week international Summer Institute on COMBI is scheduled for June 2025 (dates to be finalized) at the City University of New York, School of Public Health. Check here (to be updated) Regional and Country-Level COMBI Training The COMBI Institute also conducts COMBI workshops of shorter duration (3-9 days) at the regional and country level. The longer the workshop period, the better trained are the participants. But even in a short workshop, participants emerge with a grasp of the 10-Step COMBI Planning approach. During the past 10 years the COMBI Institute has conducted over 70 such workshops. |
Schedule with Us
COMBI training workshops led by Dr. Everold Hosein and other senior associates may be scheduled at your location. Though workshop lengths can be adjusted to accommodate deadlines and availability, it is recommended as a two week course. We have also conducted workshops lasting 3-8 days.
